The Lo Down

My friend Wendy asked me a few questions, and as I was answering, I thought, “Why not post to the blog as others may be curious, not to mention we would love specific prayers.”  So here goes:

Q:   What is the time zone difference between here and Ethiopia?

A:   Eastern time is 8hrs.  You can click here if you’re unsure how that translates for your time zone.

Q:   What specific prayer requests do you have?

A:  We need two documents- The MOWA letter, and the police clearance letter.  Those are absolutely essential to our case.  The reason for many of the latest failures has been missing MOWA letters.  Please pray that both of these letters are in our file.  These are NOT agency documents.  We are relying on Ethiopia to provide them.  The MOWA letter is our BIGGEST concern right now.

Q:  Do you know what time your case is being heard?  Should we pray at a specific time?

A:  Unfortunately we don’t know when on Tuesday our case is being heard.  My understanding is that the judges hear cases throughout a normal business day.

Q:  When do you expect to hear the verdict?  Consequently when will we hear, and will you post to FB or your blog first?

A:  Typically the news has been coming by about 10:30am Eastern.  If that trend holds, I will call Jim first, then my parents.  If the news is good, I’ll probably have to run up and down the halls at work shouting and wishing I had a champagne bottle to open. :-)  I’ll write a post to CP right away, then link to it on FB.  To be honest, if the news is disappointing, I may need to take some time to regroup before I post anything. 

The communication needs to go from Haile to Jim H to Janet to me, so prayers for a quick and effortless communication channel are also appreciated.  All these people have other clients and job responsibilities that may not allow for me to get the news as soon as I would like, though I know they’ll pass it on as soon as they are able.

Now we just sit tight today and tomorrow, and hopefully by Tuesday morning we should know.
