Travel Dates!

Wow, I didn't expect those to come so fast!  I thought for sure I wouldn't hear anything till next week at the earliest.

All I can say is:

Santa Claus is going to be in Ethiopia this year!!

(Sorry to those who expected improvised lyrics to Santa Clause is Coming to Town- maybe later!)  We'll be leaving Sunday the 20th, arriving in Eth on Monday night the 21st, and then we get custody of Gavriel bright and early on Tuesday the 22nd, and then as our travel partner so eloquently said, "then he'll be with us forever!"

The holiday adds an interesting twist though.  We have our embassy date on Wed, then there is a day to process paperwork, then on Friday midday we get handed the paperwork and head to the airport to go home.  Well.. THIS particular Friday is Christmas.  The embassy is closed.  That means our paperwork won't be complete until Monday the 28th.  Looks like we'll be hanging out in Addis Ababa that weekend.  Anyone else going to be there? :-)

While that last part sounds like a jest, we actually do have friends over in Addis that we were going to spend quite a bit of time with.  Our original plan was to arrive a few days early and stay with them at their house until the rest of our travel partners showed up.  Now we may be spending parts of the weekend with them!

The countdown is ON!!  32 days and counting.  Only FOUR more full weekends left!  Yee haw!  He's coming home baby, he's coming home!
