The Wait...The Prep

Twas the Day Before Court: the greatly abridged version
Twas the day before court and all through our minds
Thoughts were buzzing with feelings of all kinds.
The documents were ready in the dossier with care
In hopes that the judge would approve with flair
The babies and kiddos were ready to hear
Would Mamas and Papas soon be near?
Jim ever stoic and I a big flake
Drinking Tension Tamer tea, a gallon a take.
The judges asleep on their soft little beds
Thoughts of the next day, filling their heads
When one bolted awake with eyes wide bare
Papers! Papers! Are they all there?!
Where’s MOWA, now Police, please have care!
Letters and documents, you’d better be there!
These children, they’ve waited, too many months.
We need to get them home, all twenty at once!
He snuffled and snorted, and fell back asleep
While people the world over, with heads bowed deep
Prayed for the little ones with no one to reach
May there be parents for all, and a family for each!
Yes, this is meant entirely for humor and to lighten the mood. A poet I am not! :-) Go ahead and laugh with me at my silliness. All in good fun!
